OpenAI is cutting Cursor on 12 Nov 2026. What a solo operator should do this week.

On 28 August 2026, OpenAI published that it had notified SpaceX it will wind down the contract that provides OpenAI models to Cursor, with a proposed shutoff of 12 November 2026. OpenAI says that is the maximum notice its contract allows after Cursor's change of control. As of 2 September 2026, Cursor still sells Hobby, Pro at $20/month, Pro+ at $60, Ultra at $200, and Teams at $40/user/month. Treat the date as proposed until Cursor publishes its own timeline.
